According to the Ministry of Commerce, Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, August 22 - (Reporter / Lei Min) 22 released a notice to announce the second batch of rare earth export quotas in 2012, a total of 9770 tons, 8537 tons of light rare earth 1,233 tons of heavy rare earth. Coupled with the first batch of export quotas, the annual export quota for 2012 totaled 30,996 tons, an increase of approximately 2.7% from last year quota of 30,184 tons.
It is understood that China's rare earth reserves account for about 36% of the world's total reserves, has taken on a more than 90% of the world market supply. China's rare earth resources, over-exploitation, the price is a serious departure from the value. Given the scarcity of rare earth resources and the environment caused by serious pollution, China has taken a series of measures to strengthen the management of rare metals, including rare earth mining, production and processing of governance, management no longer take a single trade policy, and through industrial policy, environmental protection measures to comprehensively regulate the production, consumption and exports of rare earths, including export quota management.
